Brad Erickson writes and maintains Bean Ratio's articles and recipes. Bean Ratio is the publisher.
How we create guides
We begin with established brewing principles, verify calculations, and write instructions for a specific home-brewing question. We favor concrete measurements and explain where grind, roast, water, and taste require adjustment.
Testing and review
Ratio calculations are checked in both metric and US customary units. Brad's working setup includes a Fellow Ode grinder, Chemex, AeroPress, Gaggia Classic Pro, and an occasional travel French press. Personal settings are labeled as starting points because grinder calibration, coffee, water, dose, and technique change the result. Recipe steps are reviewed for internal consistency, safe equipment use, realistic timing, and alignment between the visible article and its structured data.
Use of assisted tools
Software-assisted tools may help with research organization, drafting, formatting, calculations, or illustrations. Brad reviews the finished work, checks its measurements and claims, and remains responsible for what Bean Ratio publishes.
