Brad reviews calculations and article updates for consistency with Bean Ratio's editorial standards.

Brad's brewing setup

Brad's regular equipment includes a Fellow Ode grinder, Chemex, AeroPress, Gaggia Classic Pro espresso machine, and a French press used occasionally while traveling.

His current Fellow Ode starting points are 8 for Chemex, 4 for AeroPress, and 3.75 for espresso. Grinder calibration, burrs, beans, age, dose, and brewing conditions can shift the useful setting, so these are personal baselines rather than universal prescriptions.

For medium-roast Chemex brews, Brad starts at 205°F. He uses the AeroPress inverted method and takes it when traveling. Counter Culture is his preferred coffee; this is a personal preference, not a paid endorsement.
